Daniel Torres was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated Dec. 2000 with a major in Philosophy and a minor in English.
Daniel attended St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio. As a second-year law student, he studied abroad at the University of Innsbruck in Austria, Europe, where he studied comparative constitutional law taught by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. As a third-year law student, he clerked for the Hon. Richard Schmidt at the United States Federal Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas, Corpus Christi Division. Daniel graduated in May 2004.
In 2004, Daniel began his legal career handling insurance defense trials and appeals. He began representing Plaintiffs in 2008 and has been with the Villarreal Law Firm since 2012. Daniel enjoys cooking indoors and outdoors, bowling, watching the Texas Longhorns, family time, travel, and golf. He is fluent in Spanish.
